It's Fearless Fourteen Day!

No writing in the blog for me today, I've pre-written this post. I'm off reading Fearless Fourteen, the latest release from Janet Evanovich. I've been waiting all year to enjoy another one of Janet's books. I'm going to try really hard not to finish it today because I want to stretch out the fun. But her books are quick reads so that won't be easy for me!

While I'm indulging in another dose of Morelli and Ranger, Stephanie and Lula, I'll leave you with this scrapbook page I created in tribute to the Plum Gang. You know how when you read a book you visualize the characters... and often they take on familiar faces from sports, the movies, or the music world? Well, I do that too. Here are some of the faces I see when I think of the Plum Gang.

You'll notice that there is no face for Ranger, the man of mystery. I actually do visualize him when I read the Plum books but I can't for the life of me tell you the name of the face I see. I think he's an actor that appears in supporting roles but I can't recall what movies or TV show I might have seen him in. They don't call Ranger the "man of mystery" for nothing! LOL!

Today is one of the highlights of summer for me. I'm enjoying a good read and I hope you're having a fun day too! For all my fellow Plum fans out there... leave a comment and tell me how you visualize the Plum characters!

  2. Oh you really should read one Wendy! But I must warn you that they can be addictive. I'm in the middle of the new release and can't pull myself away for more than a few minutes. I'm thinking we'll have to get carry out for dinner because I can't cook and read at the same time. And oooh that Ranger... yowza!

  3. Oh boy. I am so disappointed in this Plum. I waited all year, had high hopes due to the excerpts and blah. Where did Ranger go? The excerpts and the book copy are very misleading. Add that to the fact that Fearless Fourteen is missing the witty, sly humor and is full of Poo humor and I'm one unhappy fan. I'm glad someone enjoyed it but I did not. Waiting a year for this is the pits.

  4. Oh Kimber, I so know where you're coming from. I was very disappointed in Fearless Fourteen too. It's just not as good as any of the 1-12 books. (Lean Mean Thirteen was a disappointment too but I was ready to shrug that off as a fluke.)

I think I'll have to start writing some of my own fan fiction...

  5. I'm sorry Jasia that you felt that way as well. I keep waiting for someone to really LOVE it and I'm not finding anyone yet. I think this is it for me. I'm not willing to contribute to the Evanovich gravy train after two disappointing books. And frankly, Fearless Fourteen will someday be known as the worst. What a shame as I'd hoped this would have been a race to the finish. Not so. It looks like she's going to limp it.
I don't know fan fiction but I can figure it out. I think I'll pass. LOL.

  6. Uh-oh. I bought this for Mom as a birthday gift and my sister and children all told me it would be in poor taste to read it myself first. So I won't get to read it until August. Maybe the waiting won't be so hard now. I haven't looked online for any Plum fan fiction but I bet you and I could each come up with a doosie. I have mental pictures of all the characters but none are based on real people (at least I don;t think they are) Who do you picture for Grandma Mazure?
