Holiday Market at the Padzieski Art Gallery
Hosted by the Dearborn Community Arts Council
Just in time for holiday shopping, the Padzieski Art Gallery at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center will be presenting an exhibition entitled Artistry & Craftsmanship: A Holiday Market. Handmade items including jewelry, paintings, glass, toys and other arts and crafts created by exceptional artisans will be available for purchase. The exhibit begins on November 15 and closes on December 22, 2007.
In addition to the fine wares of the artisans, each year this exhibition features the holiday traditions and crafts of a specific nationality. This year, the Padzieski Art Gallery will be portraying the rich holiday traditions and crafts of Poland. An exquisite display of Polish crafts presented by the Polish Art Center of Hamtramck will be available for purchase. To launch this exhibition, the Dearborn Community Arts Council has organized a Polish Festival of food and entertainment for the family in the Dome Room, which is adjacent to the Gallery, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 15. Admission to the Dome Room event is $2.00 per person or $5.00 per family. Admission to the Polish Festival includes a 10% discount on any purchases in the gallery that evening.
The Padzieski Art Gallery is a cooperative venture between the Dearborn Community Arts Council and the City of Dearborn. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and through intermission during theater performances. The Padzieski Art Gallery is located at 15801 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, Michigan, at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center.
