It's that time of year again, time for blog caroling at footnoteMaven's place. I always enjoy seeing which carols people like listening to. I've shared a few of my favorites in the past and this year I'm sharing another favorite... Let It Snow!
I'm a Midwestern girl and in these parts we like snow for Christmas. I can do without it the rest of the year but when it comes to Christmas, I like mine white!
Let It Snow : Lyrics
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.
The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
[written by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne in 1945]
My latest favorite version is by the cast of Glee! You can hear it and sing along to the lyrics on YouTube:
Merry Christmas!
