The area of the parish is one of the few recognized suburban Polish communities. It is significant to note that ethnicity was maintained to a great degree even as the western Polish community began to move out of the city. There are large concentrations of Poles, with active organizations in such cities as Dearborn, Livonia, Westland, and Dearborn Heights.

The school is closed. It was run by the Sisters of Holy Family of the Nazareth.
